Besides salary, there are other allowances given to the posts which are given according to the Cities they will be posted after the final selection process of the SSC CGL exam.

The cities are categorized X, Y, and Z, hence the allowances given to the candidates in the respective cities are given below:

House Rent Allowance (HRA) City-wise bifurcation

House Rent Allowance(HRA)

HRA offered to the candidates to manage their expenditure on house rent.  House rent allowance is diverse depending upon the city and divided into three categories. HRA will not be less than Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm at X, Y & Z class cities correspondingly.

  1. For X category of cities HRA will be 24% of Basic pay
  2. For Y category of cities HRA will be 16% of Basic pay
  3. For Z category of cities HRA will be 8% of Basic pay

HRA shall be modified to 27%, 18% & 9% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when Dearness Allowance (DA) will cross 25% and further to 30%, 20%, and 10% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when DA crosses 50%

Dearness Allowance (DA)

The Dearness Allowance is a cost of living alteration allowance and is at present 17% of Basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission. The Union cabinet has augmented the DA to 17% in October 2019.

Transport Allowance (TA)

The transport allowance per month varies according to the place you are living in. The bifurcation of the same is mentioned below:

Employees who will be located in the cities: Rs.3600

Employees who will be located at all other places: Rs.1800
